Nikon NIKKOR Z 600mm f/6.3 VR S

The VR is so effective I've been shooting sharp handheld shots at 1/60th second, which feels almost unfair for a 600mm. It balances beautifully on a monopod, and the focus ring has just the right amount of dampening.

I was skeptical a 600mm could be this easy to handhold, but the VR S stabilization locks onto birds in flight instantly. The reduced weight lets me hike farther without my arm getting tired, and the image quality is stunning even wide open.

The weight is unbelievable for a 600mm — I can walk miles with it on a monopod without feeling it. The VR system locks onto distant subjects instantly, making handheld shots of deer at dawn razor-sharp. My only small wish is a slightly shorter minimum focus distance, but that’s a trade-off I’ll glad
