Sirui KS-G3 Geared Tripod Head

I was nervous about switching to a geared head, but the fine-tuning knobs on this one are buttery smooth. It makes composing architectural shots so much easier than a ball head ever did.

The quick-release plate locks in solidly with zero play, which gives me confidence when swapping lenses on location. I’ve been using it for landscape work and the geared adjustments make fine-tuning composition so much faster than a ball head.

Took me a few minutes to get the hang of the fine adjustments, but once dialed in, the locking mechanism holds rock-solid even with my heavy telephoto lens. Definitely speeds up my studio work.
