I was pleasantly surprised by how light this lens feels on the camera body—perfect for a full day of walking around. The image stabilization really helps get sharp shots even when I'm not using a tripod.

The close-focus macro capability caught me off guard during a hike—suddenly I was shooting flowers inches away with the same lens I used for landscapes. At just over a pound, my neck barely felt it after a full afternoon.

I've been using this as my walk-around lens for a month and the weight difference is honestly noticeable after a few hours of shooting. The macro function caught me off guard too — got a decent close-up of a bee on a flower without switching lenses.
